    Herb's Description

    Bombyx mori L.. It comprises yellow oval and rounded capsules. Cocoon about 2-5 cm long consisting of fibroin (silk) threads cemented together with a layer of silk glue (sericin) secreted by silk worm while passing from caterpillar to the chrysalis (or pupal) stage. The worms feed on the leaves of Morus alba (Shatitut), are about an inch long and half an inch thick. Cocoon ash (i.e. powdered Cocoon) is used in medicines
